Beauty Must-haves for the month of May

Over the past month, i've been thinking that i'd really like to do a 'Beauty must-haves' blog for every month. I figured it might be a really good way, to share with you the new products that i think are really worth giving a try each month. So during this month of May i've picked out 5 products that i havent been able to live without...

1.)

The Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat - £25.00 ( boots retail price )
Now i know that this is a little pricey, but i have never found a product that is so worth the money ever, apart from this one. It is fantastic for dark under eyes, facial colour correction, covering blemishes, or even just using it as a basic eye primer. The clicking applicator at the end of the stick is really great, as it only releases a small amount of product at a time, so to ensure you dont use too much. Finally this product lasts for a long time, such good value for money.

2.)

Batiste Dry Shampoo - £3.99
To be honest, Batiste dry shampoo is really an all year round favorite, but i thought i would include it into my first blog about my best products.
This dry shampoo is the worlds best life saver and helpful aid ever. It is brilliant for quickly correction slight dirty hair, if maybe you haven't had time to wash your hair or have got a bit hot during the day and feel like it needs a freshen up. It also comes in a mini size, which is great to take in a suitcase or just in your handbag everyday.

3.)

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick - Shade 700 - Nude delight - £ 6.29
I previously blogged about this lipstick in my make up deals post a number of weeks ago. But i wanted to include it in my May must haves because i've been using it non stop ever since i bought it at the begging of May. This nude/ warm color is so perfect for spring, and looks so natural with any look, whether you wearing it on a night out or just in the day, its such a great color for every occasion and great for the spring season.

4.)

Sebastian Potion 9. - ( size dependable - £9.95 -£18.45 ) - BeautyBay.com
Unfortunatly, years of using straighteners on my hair has left me with a lot of damage, which never looks very healthy or shiny. However i was recommended that i try using this, and i'm so glad i did. Sebastian Potion 9 has really helped improve the quality of my hair, and made it much easier to manage. It is also noticeably more nourished, soft and shiny after washing. A really great product for being on the way to better hair.

5.)

Lancome - LA base Pro - £28.00

Over the years i've tried and tested a variety of eye primers, such as Urban Decays primer potion, Benefits 'Lemonaid', and MUA's simple primer, which have all been great. However i've never really found a full face primer that i felt really worked well for me personally, until a good friend recommended i tried this. It's super soft on the skin, and although it feels like a serum, it isn't oily once on the skin at all, just leaving the skin feel super soft, and helps keep your makeup on all day without any fading or wearing off.

I really hope you've enjoyed reading all about my 5 favourites for this month, and hope that you've found it helpful/useful!

Very small Matalan Jewellery haul

Hey everyone, i'm sorry that i havnt blogged in a while, i've been stressing about my exams and just havent really been able to have time to get to my large list of topics i still need to blog about.
However i've taken some time out from revision today and thought i would give you just two small blogs for today, and then post my slightly bigger more exciting blogs within the next week or two.

My first blog is just a really small Jewellery haul. I went shopping the other day, and i decided to go into Matalan. Now if any of you abroad havent heard of Matalan, its a relatively cheap, clothing store for men and women, but it also sells homewear.
I always tend to find that they have great jewellery reduced sections all year round, and as you probably know from my previous blogs, jewellery is my favourite, and so whenever i'm passing a Matalan i always try to go and see if they have any good jewellery bargins.
I found 4 things this week that i really loved and were all reduced.

Firstly i found this really cool chunky necklace. I'm more of a gold then silver person myself and i love big statement pieces, so i thought this was really great. Although it looks really heavy to wear, its not at all, and looks really good with any plain outfit that you want to make just that little bit more adventurous or fun.
£8.00

Secondly i saw this cross necklace. Now over the past 6 months or so crosses have become so in fashion, i see them everywhere, on shirts, socks, bags, purses, there everywhere. And i told myself that i didnt really want to get drawn in to this 'craze' , however i say this cross necklace and realized it was also a mood necklace too, where it changes color depending on how your feeling. I always loved those as a kid so thought i'd get it.
£2.50

Finally, i bought two rings to add to my collection.
Firstly this rose gold twisted piece with small gems.
so sweet and delicate.
£2.50

Lastly this larger, more bold ring.
with gold hoop setting, and a huge dark stone inset on the front.
£2.50

I hope you've enjoyed reading my little haul, and maybe seen something you like..
watch this space for my ring collection, and 5 May must have blogs. coming soon.

40's Inspired look

Hey!
Now as you know from my previous posts, i absolutely love everything make-up. I couldn't live without it, and i don't mean that in a shallow way, i just mean i think that there is so many amazing things you can do with makeup, it really can transform you. So , i was watching an old black and white film with my mum the other day, and it really inspired me to get back into the 'makeup looks' thing.. and so after watching this 40's style film, thats what i thought i would do.
Over the next few weeks i really would love to do different looks from all different eras, just for some fun really.
I'm sorry that this might not be the most exciting blog today, i've been crazy busy recently and havent really had time to blog, however i'm going to see The Great Gatsby tomorrow ( very excited! ) so i will make sure to blog all about that.. without giving away the story line obviously..

Beautiful Bodies

Whilst having what can only be described as the tidy up of the century today, I was going through all my various body cream lotions and potions and thought that i would share my top 6 all time favorites with you because i would hugely recommend all 6 to anyone, and whats great about my little selection, is there is a wide range in price, so people can also get beautiful skin without breaking the bank. It's not always the case that the most expensive products give you the best results!
I'll start with the cheapest products and end with the more expensive ones..

E45 Moisturising Lotion - £2.55 from most drugstores.
What i always find with E45 cream, is that people tend to think its a more medicated cream than just for general beauty, and that the only reason people use it is maybe for problems with Eczema. To some extent this is partly true, there is a range especially for that, however this cream is just a simple moisturiser for dry skin. I really like using E45 because its perfume free, and fixes dry skin really quickly i find that applying it to your legs after shaving really helps heal damaged skin. I also think its brilliant value for money, this is the 200ml bottle and it has last me for ages!

Natural Collection Vanilla Body Lotion - £3.00 from Boots.
I have to say i think this could be my top Favorite cream. I use it religiously every day after showering, It smells absolutely amazing and unlike some creams, the scent stays on you for ages after-woods,  so if you  might of forgotten to put perfume on that day, or wanted something a bit lighter, this is really great. I find that it leaves my legs and arms feeling amazingly smooth, and noticeably softer, and again at such a great price, and very long lasting. Unlike some creams it doesn't leave your skins sticky either. I've had this bottle for 4 months, use it every day, and i'm still not finished with it.

Jergens Ultra healing moisturiser - £3.49 from any drugstore
I should start by saying that i didn't actually go out and buy this myself. I ordered some jewellery from Dorothy Perkins, and this small 25ml sample came free with my order. I was about to throw it away when i thought i might give it a try, and im so glad i did. I decided to try it on my my feet to try and improve the quality of my skin, within a few days, my feet look noticeably better, and much softer. This particular cream is packed with Vitimins C,E and B5 which are all really great for skin maintenance. It also hjas a really lovely subtle scent which isn't too over powering. This smaller 25ml size i think is really great because its travel size, so you can take it in your handbag with you everyday, and also its under the 100ml liquids airport limit, so it can taken on flights to refresh the skin.

Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion - $11 - Bath & Body Works USA
This is another really great travel size cream that gives a quick refresher to your skin when on the go. It leaves my hands feeling really supple and soft, with a really gorgeous warm vanilla smell. The only unfortunate thing with this product, is that i haven't tracked down anywhere to buy it from in the UK yet. So i had to order it online, after deciding i must get some after sampling some of my sisters she brought back with her from her trip to Florida a few years ago. However i would say it was really worth it as i haven't found a product quite like this one before.

These final two products are a little more expensive however i wanted to include a range, and they are really great....

Clarins Foot Beauty Treatment Cream - £22.00 - from most beauty stores, beauty deparments, and some superstores.
I've always found that when reading through various beauty blogs, that one big issue is always how to get softer feet. I've tried so many different creams to try and tackle getting softer skin particularly on the heels of my feet but nothing really worked. Until my mum suggested this. It. is. brilliant. not only does it help repair cracked skin, and soften the feet, but it also has ingredients to take care of nails as well  a nice little added extra i think. Now, unlike some of the other creams i've shared with you, this isn't what i would call a quick fix, it did take a week or so of daily application to work, but it was so worth it as my feet are so much softer and repaired than before!

Chanel Allure body Lotion - £37.00 - from most drugstores
My final product to share with you today is, at £37.00 the most expensive in the list, however, although i am normally such a massive bargain hunter, this was one of the best investments i ever made. I wouldn't label this particular cream as having healing benefits, however i would say it was one of the best skin softeners i have ever, ever used. It has the most beautiful, feminine, Chanel no5 scent, which isnt over powering at all. I used to enjoy using this everyday, however because it is quite expensive i am trying to use it sparingly now. However i still think that even in small doses this is so great for achieving super smooth skin, with a lovely light fragrance.

I really hope you've enjoyed reading about my favourite Beauty cream of the moment, and hope that you decide to try some of them out for yourself!

see you tomorrow,

Summery, Aztec, cut-out shirt.

Hey!
After a long clear out of my mess of a bedroom last night, i found a variety of gift cards that I had for some strange reason never got round to using. One of which was for New Look, and seeing as there is a new look store in my town, i decided to go and have a look before walking home this afternoon.
Unfortunately i find that when this time of year comes around and it starts getting warmer, quite a lot of shops, not all,  seem to think that it means all the items in store must be the skimpiest things with minimal material. Now because of my size i could never really pull of those type bandeau wearing, short shorts type of looks, but as is life!.. so therefore unfortunately i find it hard to find really pretty summery dresses and shirts in particular that will just slightly more cover me up. I don't know if anyone else gets this problem ? .. its  probably just me..
Anyway, so whilst i was walking around New Look i came across this really lovely summery top.

Its a beautiful black and creamy/brown Aztec print top, with a really nice back cut out detail. 100% viscose, really soft, priced at £14.00. what drew me to this top, as well as the fact that it covers me up, is that you don't just have to wear it as a summery day top. Pair it with a nice dark blazer or jacket, some skinny black jeans, some chunky gold jewellery and some heels, and you've got a night out outfit included. I always like to buy items that i think you can make work for either night or day time. I guess it makes me feel like im getting my moneys worth!

Here is a better view of the back cut-out detailing >>>>>
( excuse the lipstick marks on my mirror, those were the outcome of a drunken story best saved for another time! )

anyway, i hope you liked my new purchase  and maybe got some ideas of your own from it!
